Cyphostemma congestum is a succulent perennial.

Naming

Cyphostemma congestum was already described and the name validly published by John Gilbert Baker. It was Hiram Wild and Robert Bailey Drummond, however, who reclassified it into todays valid botanical systematics in 1966 based on a prior description by Bernard M. Descoings.

Cyphostemma congestum is a species in the genus Cyphostemma which contains approximately 266 to 279 species and belongs to the family of the Vitaceae (Grape Family).
