Naming

Chasmatophyllum masculinum was already described and the name validly published by Adrian Hardy Haworth. It was Moritz Kurt Dinter and Martin Heinrich Gustav Schwantes, however, who reclassified it into todays valid botanical systematics .

Chasmatophyllum masculinum is a species in the genus Chasmatophyllum which contains 8 species and belongs to the family of the Aizoaceae (Fig-marigold Family).
