Corryocactus brevistylus is a succulent shrub.

Naming

Corryocactus brevistylus was already described and the name validly published by Friedrich Karl Johann Vaupel based on a prior description by Karl Moritz Schumann. It was Nathaniel Lord Britton and Joseph Nelson Rose, however, who reclassified it into todays valid botanical systematics in 1920.
