Naming

Anthoxanthum odoratum subsp. alpinum was already described and the name validly published by Áskell Löve and Doris Benta Maria Löve. It was Nikolai Nikolaievich Tzvelev, however, who reclassified it into todays valid botanical systematics .

Anthoxanthum odoratum subsp. alpinum is a subspecies in the genus Anthoxanthum which contains approximately 24 to 26 species and belongs to the family of the Poaceae (Grass Family).
