Naming

Amphilophium laxiflorum was already described and the name validly published by Augustin Pyramus de Candolle. It was Lúcia Garcez Lohmann, however, who reclassified it into todays valid botanical systematics .

Taxonomy

Amphilophium laxiflorum is a species in the genus Amphilophium which contains approximately 43 to 44 species and belongs to the family of the Bignoniaceae (Trumpet-creeper Family).

Growth

The climbers reach heights of 5 to 7,5 metres.

Amphilophium laxiflorum is evergreen. The paripinnate leaves are opposite. The ovate-lanceolate leaflets are entire and petiolate.

Amphilophium laxiflorum produces light-purple tubular flowers from July to October.
