Amomum villosum var. xanthioides is a perennial.

Naming

Amomum villosum var. xanthioides was already described and the name validly published by John Gilbert Baker based on a prior description by Nathaniel Wallich. It was Te Lin Wu and Sen Jen Chen, however, who reclassified it into todays valid botanical systematics .

Amomum villosum var. xanthioides is a variety in the genus Amomum which contains approximately 177 to 192 species and belongs to the family of the Zingiberaceae (Ginger Family).
