Actinidia arguta var. purpurea is a climber.

Naming

Actinidia arguta var. purpurea was already described and the name validly published by Alfred Rehder. It was Qinq Qi Chang, however, who reclassified it into todays valid botanical systematics in 1982 based on a prior description by Chou Fen Liang.

Actinidia arguta var. purpurea is a variety in the genus Actinidia which contains approximately 86 to 89 species and belongs to the family of the Actinidiaceae (Chinese-goosberry Family).
