Rosa x odorata (= Rosa indica var. fragrans, Rosa indica var. odorata, Rosa thea), commonly known as Tea Rose, is a shrub.

Rosa x odorata was already described and the name validly published by Henry Charles Andrews. It was not until 1826, however, that Robert Sweet reclassified it into todays valid botanical systematics.

The Tea Rose is a species in the genus Rosa (rose) which contains 149 species and belongs to the family of the Rosaceae (Rose Family).

The shrubs grow to a height of approximately 5 meters.

Rosa x odorata is an evergreen plant with imparipinnate leaves. The leaves are arranged opposite one another. They are ovate.
