Rosa persetosa was described in 1913 by Robert Allen Rolfe. The name is considered as validly published.

Rosa persetosa is a species in the genus Rosa (rose) which contains 149 species and belongs to the family of the Rosaceae (Rose Family).

The shrubs grow to a height of approximately 1,5 meters.
