Rosa longicuspis was described in 1861 by Antonio Bertoloni. The name is considered as validly published.

Rosa longicuspis is a species in the genus Rosa (rose) which contains 149 species and belongs to the family of the Rosaceae (Rose Family).

The climbers grow to a height of approximately 6 meters.

Rosa longicuspis is an evergreen plant with imparipinnate leaves. The leaves are arranged opposite one another. They are greyish green and ovate with serrate margins.

The scented flowers are five-petaled and white. The plants bloom from May to July. They are arranged in corymbs.

The red fruits are hips. They develop in summer.

Rosa longicuspis is native to west China, Nepal and northeast India.

Rosa longicuspis prefers a sunny to half shady site and can withstand temperatures down to -6,6º C. It grows best in sandy or pebbly, loamy soil that is dry to moderately moist.
