Rosa inodora was described in 1814 by Elias Magnus Fries. The name is considered as validly published.

Rosa inodora is a species in the genus Rosa (rose) which contains 149 species and belongs to the family of the Rosaceae (Rose Family).

The shrubs grow to a height of approximately 2 meters.

Rosa inodora is a decidious plant with imparipinnate leaves. The leaves are arranged opposite one another. They are dark green and elliptic with serrate margins.

The flowers are five-petaled and white. The plants bloom from June to July. The flowers are arranged in corymbs.

The red fruits are hips.
