Rosa giraldii was described in 1897 by François Crépin. The name is considered as validly published.

Rosa giraldii is a species in the genus Rosa (rose) which contains 149 species and belongs to the family of the Rosaceae (Rose Family).

The shrubs grow to a height of approximately 2 meters.
