Rosa elegantula was described in 1916 by Robert Allen Rolfe. The name is considered as validly published.

Rosa elegantula is a species in the genus Rosa (rose) which contains 149 species and belongs to the family of the Rosaceae (Rose Family).

The shrubs grow to a height of approximately 2 meters.

Rosa elegantula is a decidious plant with imparipinnate leaves. The leaves are arranged opposite one another. They are pale green and elliptic.

The flowers are five-petaled and pink. The plants bloom from June to August. The flowers are arranged solitary.
