Rosa carolina var. setigera is a variety in the genus Rosa (rose) which contains 149 species and belongs to the family of the Rosaceae (Rose Family).

The subshrubs grow to a height of approximately 1 meter.

Rosa carolina var. setigera is a decidious plant with imparipinnate leaves. The leaves are arranged opposite one another. They are elliptic with serrulate margins.
