Rosa bella was described in 1915 by Alfred Rehder and Ernest Henry Wilson. The name is considered as validly published.

Rosa bella is a species in the genus Rosa (rose) which contains 149 species and belongs to the family of the Rosaceae (Rose Family).

The shrubs grow to a height of approximately 3 meters.

Rosa bella is a decidious plant with imparipinnate leaves. The leaves are arranged opposite one another. They are ovate with serrate margins.

The scented flowers are five-petaled and pink. The plants bloom from May to July. They are arranged solitary.

The red fruits are hips. They develop in summer.

Rosa bella is native to north China.

Rosa bella prefers a sunny to half shady site and can withstand temperatures down to -23,3º C. It grows best in sandy or pebbly, loamy soil that is dry to moderately moist.
