Naming

Magnolia liliifera was already described and the name validly published by Carl Linnaeus. It was Henri Ernest Baillon, however, who reclassified it into todays valid botanical systematics in 1868.

Magnolia liliifera is a species in the genus Magnolia which contains approximately 267 to 297 species and belongs to the family of the Magnoliaceae (Magnolia Family).
