Decaisnea fargesii is a shrub with very ornamental, unusual blue fruits. The species was described in 1892 by Adrien René Franchet. The name is considered as validly published. The name Decaisnea is in honour of Belgian botanist Joseph Decaisne (1807 - 1882) who was a professor at the Jardin des Plantes in Paris. Decaisnea fargesii is a species in the genus Decaisnea which contains 2 species and belongs to the family of the Lardizabalaceae (Lardizabala Family). more...
