Naming

Gasteria nitida var. armstrongii was already described and the name validly published by Selmar Schönland. It was Ernst Jacobus van Jaarsveld, however, who reclassified it into todays valid botanical systematics in 1992.

Taxonomy

Gasteria nitida var. armstrongii is a variety in the genus Gasteria which contains approximately 27 to 44 species and belongs to the family of the Aloaceae (Aloe Family).
