Naming

Echinodorus grandiflorus was already described and the name validly published by Ludolf Karl Adelbert von Chamisso and Diederich Franz Leonhard von Schlechtendal. It was Marc Micheli, however, who reclassified it into todays valid botanical systematics in 1881.

Taxonomy

Echinodorus grandiflorus is a species in the genus Echinodorus which contains approximately 27 to 35 species and belongs to the family of the Alismataceae (Water-plantain Family).
