Draba incerta var. peasei was already described and the name validly published by Merritt Lyndon Fernald. It was not until 1993, however, that Reed Clark Rollins reclassified it into todays valid botanical systematics.

Draba incerta var. peasei is a variety in the genus Draba (whitlow grass) which contains 300 species and belongs to the family of the Brassicaceae (Mustard Family).

The perennials grow to a height of approximately 0,15 meters and develop into mounds or cushions.
