Draba corrugata var. saxosa was already described and the name validly published by Anstruther Davidson. It was not until 1923, however, that Philip Alexander Munz and Ivan Murray Johnston reclassified it into todays valid botanical systematics.

Draba corrugata var. saxosa is a variety in the genus Draba (whitlow grass) which contains 300 species and belongs to the family of the Brassicaceae (Mustard Family).

The perennials grow to a height of approximately 0,2 meters.

Draba corrugata var. saxosa is an evergreen plant with simple leaves. The leaves are arranged in rosettes. They are lanceolate with entire margins.

The flowers are cross-shaped and yellow. The plants bloom from June to July. The flowers are arranged in racemes.
