Draba brachystylis was described in 1902 by Per Axel Rydberg. The name is considered as validly published.

Draba brachystylis is a species in the genus Draba (whitlow grass) which contains 300 species and belongs to the family of the Brassicaceae (Mustard Family).

The perennials grow to a height of approximately 0,3 meters.

Draba brachystylis is a decidious plant with simple leaves. The leaves are arranged in rosettes. They are oblanceolate with entire margins.
