Naming

Chlorophytum macrophyllum was already described and the name validly published by Achille Richard. It was Paul Friedrich August Ascherson, however, who reclassified it into todays valid botanical systematics .

Taxonomy

Chlorophytum macrophyllum is a species in the genus Chlorophytum which contains approximately 206 to 214 species and belongs to the family of the Anthericaceae (Anthericum Family).

The perennials reach heights of 60 to 75 centimetres.

Chlorophytum macrophyllum is evergreen. The dark-green, simple leaves are basal. They are lanceolate with entire margins.

Flowers and Fruits

Chlorophytum macrophyllum produces racemes of white six-stellate flowers from June to August.

The perennials produce loculicidal capsules.

Cultivation
