Chaenorhinum glareosum was already described and the name validly published by Pierre Edmond Boissier. It was not until 1886, however, that Heinrich Moritz Willkomm reclassified it into todays valid botanical systematics.

Chaenorhinum glareosum is a species in the genus Chaenorhinum (dwarf snapdragon) which contains 21 species and belongs to the family of the Scrophulariaceae (Figwort Family).

The perennials grow to a height of approximately 0,2 meters and develop as mats.
