Cephalophyllum subulatoides was already described and the name validly published by Adrian Hardy Haworth. It was not until 1929, however, that Nicholas Edward Brown reclassified it into todays valid botanical systematics.

Cephalophyllum subulatoides is a species in the genus Cephalophyllum which contains 32 species and belongs to the family of the Aizoaceae (Fig-marigold Family).

The perennials grow to a height of approximately 0,07 meters.
