Edraianthus graminifolius was already described and the name validly published by Carl Linnaeus. It was not until 1839, however, that Alphonse Pyramus de Candolle reclassified it into todays valid botanical systematics.

Edraianthus graminifolius is a species in the genus Edraianthus (grassy bells) which contains 24 species and belongs to the family of the Campanulaceae (Bellflower Family).
