Growth
The grasses reach heights of 60 to 100 centimetres. The plants reach a width of 50 to 80 centimetres.
Leaves
Calamagrostis brachytricha is deciduous. The grey, simple leaves are alternate. They are linear with entire margins and parallel venation.
