Allamanda schottii was described in 1827 by Johann Baptist Emanuel Pohl. The name is considered as validly published.

The Bush Allamanda is a species in the genus Allamanda which contains 14 species and belongs to the family of the Apocynaceae (Dogbane Family).

The climbers grow to a height of approximately 2 meters.

Allamanda schottii is an evergreen plant with simple leaves. The leaves are arranged in whorls. They are obovate with entire margins.

The flowers are funnel-shaped. The plants bloom from May to August. The flowers are arranged in cymes.

The fruits are septicidal capsules. They develop in autumn.

Allamanda schottii is native to tropical South America.

The Bush Allamanda prefers a sunny site and can withstand temperatures only above 1,2º C. It grows best in loamy soil, sandy, loamy soil that is moist.
