Acineta chrysantha was already described and the name validly published by Charles François Antoine Morren. It was not until 1850, however, that John Lindley and Joseph Paxton reclassified it into todays valid botanical systematics.

Acineta chrysantha is a species in the genus Acineta which belongs to the family of the Orchidaceae (Orchid Family).
