Achillea nobilis ssp. neilreichii was already described and the name validly published by Alfred Keller. It was not until some time later, however, that Armen Leonovich Takhtajan reclassified it into todays valid botanical systematics.

Achillea nobilis ssp. neilreichii is a subspecies in the genus Achillea (yarrow) which contains 85 species and belongs to the family of the Asteraceae (Aster Family).
