Achillea ageratum was described in 1753 by Carl Linnaeus. The name is considered as validly published.

The Sweet Nancy is a species in the genus Achillea (yarrow) which contains 85 species and belongs to the family of the Asteraceae (Aster Family).

The perennials grow to a height of approximately 0,6 meters and develop into clumps.
